So where did the theory even come from in the first place?
It all started when Taylor Swift’s official website briefly displayed a mysterious countdown page on April 30, 2026. Fans immediately noticed that the visuals looked strikingly similar to the iconic Toy Story aesthetic, complete with bright blue skies and fluffy white clouds. Social media users quickly began posting side-by-side comparisons, arguing that the design could not possibly be a coincidence.
From there, the speculation only intensified, Toy Story-themed billboards featuring the letters “TS” have began appearing across several cities in the United States, instantly sending Taylor Swift fans into detective mode online. The billboards, designed with the franchise’s signature blue sky and cloud background, quickly caught attention because many believed the “TS” branding could be a subtle reference to Taylor Swift rather than just Toy Story. Fans became even more convinced after noticing what they claimed were exactly 13 clouds displayed across the billboard, a number famously associated with Swift.

The singer has referenced 13 throughout her career, calling it her favourite number and often using it in performances, social media posts, and Easter eggs for upcoming projects. The discovery only added fuel to the growing rumours that Swift could somehow be involved in Toy Story 5, whether through the soundtrack, a promotional campaign, or a surprise collaboration with Disney and Pixar. Social media platforms quickly filled with fan theories, with many convinced the billboards were intentionally designed to spark speculation among Swifties.
Fans also pointed out that Toy Story 5 is scheduled to release on June 19, 2026, the exact same date marking 20 years since Swift released her debut single, “Tim McGraw.” For many online detectives, that timing felt too perfect to ignore. TikTok, X, and Reddit were soon flooded with theories suggesting Swift was preparing either an original song for the film or a surprise re-recording tied to the anniversary.

Others went even further, claiming Pixar and Disney were intentionally planting clues to generate buzz ahead of the movie’s release. Some fans analysed colour palettes, fonts, and even interview quotes from cast members in an attempt to support the crossover theory.
Sorry Swifties, Toy Story 5 is not secretly soundtracked by Taylor Swift, no matter how convincing the internet tried to make the theory seem.
The filmmakers behind the upcoming Pixar sequel have officially shut down the viral rumour that had fans convinced a Taylor Swift track was somehow hidden in the movie. During a recent interview, members of the Toy Story creative team admitted they were surprised by just how quickly the speculation exploded online. One producer joked that they would have been “freakin’ honoured” to feature Swift’s music, but confirmed that the final version of the film does not include one of her songs.

The clarification disappointed some fans who had spent weeks dissecting every possible clue, hoping the singer-songwriter would make an appearance on the soundtrack. Still, the filmmakers seemed amused by the internet frenzy and acknowledged how dedicated Swifties can be when it comes to uncovering hidden hints and Easter eggs.
Still, the idea is not entirely impossible in the future. Swift’s relationship with Disney has grown significantly in recent years thanks to the massive success of The Eras Tour concert film and several streaming projects connected to her music catalogue. Because of that partnership, many fans believe a Disney-Pixar collaboration could realistically happen one day.

For now though, Pixar is sticking with its toys, and Taylor Swift is staying far away from Andy’s room, at least for this movie… or iS iT?
